Frozen 2 – Review

There were songs that gave me goosebumps and moments that made me laugh out loud

★★★★★

There is no denying that I’m late to the party, but today I finally made time to see Frozen 2. It’s not like I haven’t tried – I tried to go over the weekend, but the only seats available in the screen were two that were apart, and I’m not about that.

So, today I went as a nice Monday afternoon treat – got to make use of my cinema card and I’ve been craving cinema popcorn for weeks now.

Prior to going to see the movie, I’d already listened to one of the songs, and I liked it a lot and that’s a good sign if nothing else. Soundtracks can really make or break movies, live action and animation.

I really enjoyed the first Frozen, the story and the soundtrack were just what Disney needed, along with a story line that wasn’t just boy meets girl. It was an empowerment message and a message of sisterhood. What’s not to love. Going into the second one I already had high hopes and let me tell you now, I was not disappointed.

From start to finish I was immersed in the perfect animated fantasy land. There were songs that gave me goosebumps and moments that made me laugh out loud and I almost shed a tear at one point… not that that matters because I cry at everything. The animation was flawless and the story was enticing, I loved every moment of it.

In my opinion it’s miles above the first instalment, everything about it is better, it’s everything I hope for in a sequel and it left me wanting more. While the story has been rounded off nicely, I’m always going to be hoping for another one.

Now please excuse me while I listen to the soundtrack over and over again.
